Here are some things to consider if you wanna pop some popcorn in an air fryer

Usually, people pop popcorn on the stove burner, simply adding oil to a pot before throwing in the corn kernels. The results are extraordinary but there’s a lot of clean up to do and you have to keep an eye on it to prevent the popcorn from burning. 

More and more people have started to pop popcorn in their air fryers. It holds the taste and there are less chances of overcooking them or burning. It’s not the quickest way to get it done but it is good option.

1- Quarter cup of kernels 

2- 2 tablespoons of oil

3- Turn on air fryer and cook for 8 to 10 minutes 

4- Wait for the popping of the kernels to stop and they are done. Put the popcorn into a bowl, add seasonings and enjoy!

Pros and Cons of Using an Air Fryer to Pop Popcorn

Pros: You have less chances of overcooking or burning the popcorn, less mess in your kitchen and your popcorn is going be more consistent. It’s also the healthiest method to pop popcorn, as you can use less oil, without compromising the taste.

Cons: You have to make smaller portions, and the whole process takes longer than other methods. Some kernels may get stuck, as it happens with other methods.

Microwave Popcorn in an Air Fryer: Better Not

Microwave popcorn has some additives and other stuff included to it to give it some taste. If you use a parcel of microwave popcorn in your air fryer, results may not be as good. Try using plain popcorn kernels to pop popcorn in an air fryer, you’ll get better results!

One last tip. If kernels are getting blown around your air fryer, you can create a loose pouch out of aluminium foil that will constrain your popcorn kernels. Just form a little pouch with some aluminum foil, add some oil and the kernels inside it and put it into your air fryer at the normal temperature. They may take longer to cook but hey, it is cleaner!
